good location and feeling what ome might get staying in old house in Amsterdam.
it doesn't maintained well - some lamps are not working, curtains not fresh. My room nr15 was spacious but located right below entrance lane and was very noisy
Large room for our triple room. A lot better than those in London of similar kind. Don't think you'll ever find anything of that size in London for that price. The style of the hotel is really cute and sweet. We like that sort of thing. The staff are excellent. Everyone is warm and very helpful. We'll definitely stay there again.
Noise from room above and from the yard. But they are an old historical building, right in the town center. I guess there is nothing they can do about that. Even so, it wasn't too bad. To be honest, considering what we paid for our large three persons room, the excellent location, the lovely staff, the noise thing isn't really something that would bother me in my future booking. I would see it as a good trade-off. But everyone is different. If you are a person who is very sensitive about noises you'll perhaps feel differently about this issue.
Good views of the Amstel and easy access for all parts of the city. The apartment is about 500 years old and features as one of the canal boat tours sights - the dancing houses. Has traditional Amsterdam staircase and sloping floors, so great location for authentic Amsterdam living. Comfortable and clean. Well laid out for family break. Hotel staff were pleasant and friendly. Access to the internet and wi-fi available in the hotel.
Apartment is above a busy cafe - the Hot Spot - which is open until 3am with loud music that vibrates through to the apartment. Next door is an Irish Bar with live music and courtyard which is open until about 3am. Not a quiet location of an evening although we managed to sleep well enough. Bunk bed is very high and has no barrier - our 12 year old was concerned that he'd roll out (although he didn't!) Plug for extractor fan over the hob does not have a lead long enough to fit into the socket. No wifi in the apartment but it is available in the hotel (next door).
this hotel was in a great location, close to shopping and eating places.easy to find and pleasant surroundings .the staff were great and even carried my heavy bags up the stairs.
the stairs were very steep but very quaint. it is an old hotel so wasnt expecting too much.
I liked the administrator - blond man, he was very polite!
Location is very good. Canal view room is quite big and nice.
There was draught from windows, heating was not switched on and as a result there was rather cold in the room.
Very bad secvice!!! I stay in august 2010 with 3 friends in apartment with canal view. There is Two bad for 4 guest ( no information). Power socket in the kitchen dont work (no tea no coffe). Canal view is very bad. When me friends come in apartment later me I has to go to entry ( Downwards on a ladder) for open the door. One key for all guest. WiFi dont work.
We arrived to the hotel after midnight. The hotel staff was informed on that and a night manager was waiting us. The hotel staff was very helpful during the period of all stay. Also, 17th century building of the hotel with some remaining historical features and excellent location of the hotel.
Very frendly staff and very good location.
This hotel is right in the centre so it was easy access to everything you needed in the town. It was very clean in our apartment and staff were fantastic.
The were very steep and there was alot of them to get our apartment got quite noisy at night because one of the windows didnt shut properly but it did not spoil our stay.
The location was perfect--right in the middle of everything, 2 blocks from the flower market, across the street from River Amstel, within walking distance of museums, restaurants, and other sights. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful and welcoming. It's an older hotel (built 1760s) and the owners plan a renovation/restoration. We'd love to see it when it's done. We would certainly consider staying here again. It was a bit pricey, but that's Amsterdam.
There is no elevator -- not a problem for us but worth noting. The staircase is more like a ladder, which is typical of older homes and hotels in the city -- interior space was at a premium. The planned renovation/restoration does not include an elevator.
This hotel is located really great! Nice view on Amstel river.Almost every tourist attraction is nearby.
Hotel rooms are in poor condition in terms of furniture, walls - so on. It is very clean and functioning well, but horribly old. One more thing - the stairs are steep. We nearly had to climb to our floor. But it's ok, if you're in good physical shape.
The location of the hotel, the canal view, the space in the room (we were 4 persons), the service at the time of our departure because a man from the hotel carried out through the ''terrible'' stairs our luggages.
We saw a liitle mouse twice running in our room but due to the canal is a usual thing. I propose better protection for mice from the hotel. Furtermore no change of our beds only towels.
Our room over looked the canal great for the view. The location was great
The stairs were very steep . There Is no lift No airconditioning Be aware that the rooms getting a view you will have to put up with the street noise at night early morning
Location is perfect, price is good compared to the prices of other centric hotels in Amsterdam, clean and renovated.
